My family and I moved to Coker
Creek near the town of Tellico Plains many years ago. After spending
years overseas, we drove into this area and felt we were home.
Living here and working for several years as a registered nurse, I
have learned a deep appreciation for the people here and their
spirit.

born in Wurtzburg, Germany. I was raised in Georgia. My father was
an Army vet. My husband , two children and I have been in Tennessee
for over 20 years. We love this area and the people. I hope I never

I'm not from Tennessee, but I got
here as fast as I could. I escaped from Naples Florida over a year
ago. Vowing to never battle traffic, mosquitoes, or shoppers, in
1999, I flew my plane north, looking for Eden. I found it here. I
landed at the local airport and fell in love. I heard the music of
the mountains, felt the heartbeat of its people, and came home to a

Hello, my name is Ed Hurst. I was
born in Georgia and raised in Panama City, FL. I served three years
in the Army, including a year in Vietnam. I worked for and retired
from the Department of Defense after over 30 years of Government
service. My wife Janet and I fell in love with the mountains and
people in East Tennessee while vacationing here about 11 years ago.
We had always dreamed of building a log home in the mountains and
our dreams came true in 2003. I hope to help you find that special

Hello, I'm Janet Hurst. I was
born and grew up in Iowa and moved to Orlando in 1980. My husband Ed
and I fell in love with the mountains and waterfalls in East
Tennessee while on vacation about 11 years ago. We purchased 7 acres
of land in Coker Creek. Ed and I lived in Orlando and worked for the
Department of Defense. He was lucky enough to retire two years ago
and we decided to get out of the rat race in Florida and build our
dream log home in the mountains. I hope to help you find the place

My name is Bill Wrighter. I'm 56
years old. My wife Lorrie, who also works for Jenkins, and I enjoy
riding our Harleys on the beautiful mountain roads of East
Tennessee. We feel very fortunate to live in the Tellico Plains
area. We are within minutes of the Tellico River, Bald River Falls
and the Cherokee National Forest. We're situated between Chattanooga
and Knoxville and close to the Lost Sea, Great Smoky Mountains
National Park and Cades Cove. Lorrie and I love living here and

was born in Mobile, Alabama but grew up and raised a family in
Mississippi. My family and I have vacationed in and around this area
for years. Our children grew up and left home and when they left, we

to Coker Creek, TN in August 2003. Fay and I have always enjoyed the

My name is June Stephens. I am a

To tell you a little about myself
and how I came to this area, I will start at the beginning. My
parents, grandparents and great-grandparents were born and raised in
the mountains of Coker Creek. My parents moved away right after
their marriage and lived "up North" during WW2.My family lived all
over the country in the subsequent years. When my parents retired
they moved back to our family farm in Coker Creek. More than twelve
years ago my husband and I moved up here from Atlanta, Ga. It came
as quite a surprise. I really had never expected to live here.
Although I loved it as a child I had never stayed long enough as an
adult to adjust to the pace. It is a very different life-style from
the city. Much more "laid back" and the people are truly interested
in taking time to appreciate nature and develop relationships with
their neighbors. I enjoy it thoroughly now and find it difficult to
think of living anywhere else. This area attracts warm, friendly,
creative people who want more than property, they want a change of
lifestyle. I enjoy meeting these people and helping make their
dreams come true. If you call or e-mail me and let me know your
